MALAIKA’s knitwear is spun in Yamagata using high-quality Australian wool, dyed and knitted in Fukushima.
There were once 250 knitwear factories in Fukushima. Now, only eight factories remain due to the influx of inexpensive mass production and the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.
Still, craftsmanship has been protected due to the skilled artisans and the globally standardized Japanese knitting machine.
